Faster, greener innovation

Reuters recently took a look at CITRIS, an innovation incubator launched in 2001 by the University of California school at Berkley, Davis, Santa Cruz and Merced. This system is composed of over 300 faculty researchers, who all have the goal of shortening the time between research projects conducted on their campuses and when they go to market. They're looking to add technology and value to the market place as well as add value to human needs. Current projects they're working on include monitoring motor vehicle traffic with cell phones and thermostats that talk. Read the whole article here.
